an index of rousing escapades

Every once in a while BuzzFeed shows me something truly remarkable. In this case it’s 1,001 Droll Pranks for Rich Boys, a website that is exactly what it sounds like. Here are a few examples.

Board another fellow’s sailboat and replace each bowline knot with a round hitch. His frustration at the regatta will be a cause for levity!

Replace another fellow’s blazer with a blazer from a lesser academy. If he falls for the trick, call attention to his attire at supper.

hey fatty, you’re going to die

I won’t lie, I’m super lazy when it comes to fitness and all other things. In order to overcome this sloth I decided to turn to technology. There are a bunch of great services that provide a little motivation to get running or jumping or biking or Greco-Roman wrestling. A couple of my favourites are RunKeeper and Fitocracy. Unfortunately, both of these services lack one very fundamental element. Zombies. That’s where Zombies, Run! comes in.

The iOS app puts you in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. After your character, who gains the nickname runner 5, crash lands outside the fortified Abel Township he (you?) is forced to go on a run in order to gain admittance to the colony. The main story is broken up into a series of missions. During the missions the story is interlaced with music from your own library. Basically, a bit of story, then a music track. I’m only a couple missions in, but so far it’s been a weird enjoyable workout experience. Look for RunKeeper support and more fitness tracking in future updates.

Zombies, run! $7.99 (iTunes link)

13 eerie -official trailer

The first official trailer for 13 Eerie is out, and it looks pretty gruesome. The film revolves around six overachieving forensic students who get stuck on an island full of convicted fellons turned zombies. If you enjoy zombies and gore, you’ll want to watch this.

Starring: Katharine Isabelle, Brendan Fehr and Brendan Fletcher, and probably some other Brendans.

Directed by: Lowell Dean

amazing spider-man

In anticipation of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, I’ve decided to read The Amazing Spider-Man series from the beginning. Here is what I discovered.

1) Most of Spider-Man’s villains became insane super criminals due to brain dammage. This list is just the tip of the iceberg.

2)Spider-Man is basically Charlie Brown. Seriously, his life is terrible. He should be on permanent suicide watch. In fact, they even reference ol’ Chuck in the comics. I’m too lazy to find the issue.

3)The death of Gwen Stacy makes Peter go insane. I like to think the late 70s and early 80s are one big hallucination due to all the mental anguish. How else could you explain the many rollerskating villains throughout the decades?

4)There are a lot of lame villains.

Yes, the series has had a pretty great run. Except for this.
